Saugatuck’s Industrial Education is diverse by offering a wide range of experiences and technical skill development. These include Residential Building Trades, Computer Aided Machining, Small Engine Technology, Home Improvement, Metalworking, Woodworking, and Middle School exposure classes.
Classes are project based with emphasis on high level learning and achievement. The classes are taught by Mr. Heyser, who believes these classes also offer a therapeutic exercise that can make anyone’s day better. Students compete against other schools and even have the opportunity to join an after school Robotics team.
The program often takes part in community service based projects allowing kids to give back to their community while applying skills learned in other classes as well.
