Coach Ward is entering his 12th year with the golf program at Saugatuck HS. He spent 3 years coaching JV golf and this will be his 9th year as the Varsity Coach.
Our goal as a program is to use the game of golf to develop life lessons such as integrity, respect for others, and accepting the uncontrollable. Playing with others and competing every time out on the course helps us enjoy a game we’ll be playing for the rest of our lives!
Last year was a successful season for our varsity team, placing second in the SAC Lakeshore Division. We hope to build on that momentum next year and hopefully take home a conference championship! In addition, the Varsity Golf team placed runner-up in the Regional tournament and qualified for the MHSAA Division 4 State Finals! This was the first time Saugatuck Golf had qualified for State Finals since 2009!
