Coach Czarnecki enters his 6th season coaching Saugatuck baseball, and his third year as the varsity head coach. Coach Czarnecki will graduate from Western Michigan University, in April 2024, earning a degree as a K-12 Physical and Health Education Teacher. The baseball program has grown significantly under Coach Czarnecki’s tenure. The program has added a middle school team and this year returns a JV team after several years with only a varsity team. Over 50 players are signed up to participate in the Spring 2024 season!

Coach Czarnecki is committed to growing the game of baseball stating, “My objective is for each athlete to develop into better baseball players  –  not just physically –  but to teach them about the mental part of the game as well. “I want to teach them to love the game as much as I do. My goal is for each player to take something they have learned from baseball and apply it to real-life situations throughout high school and beyond. Baseball is a game of failure – pushing through those failures and learning to make adjustments is a skill we all need to be successful in life.”

Coach Czarnecki was a 4-year starter for Saugatuck varsity baseball prior to graduating from SHS in 2018, earning multiple awards and recognition along the way. His goal is to build one of the most respected baseball programs in the conference and surrounding area, with emphasis on the overall experience being a positive one for each player.  He expects every player on the roster to be fully committed to, and enthusiastic about the program, while taking pride in the opportunity to represent Saugatuck High School and the community it serves.
