This is my 6th year coaching the girls team.  We have 24 girls on our roster this year, with only 6 being juniors or seniors. While this points to us as being really young,  we bring back a lot of experience.  We had a strong freshman class last year that upgraded our talent all over the field, and have added some new players to the mix this year that we're excited about.

We'll be pretty deep and as athletic as we've ever been.  The biggest challenge for us will be breaking in new freshmen goalkeepers and finding someone that can consistently put the ball in the back of the net.  While we return most of our starting lineup from last season (8 returning starters), we need to replace over 50% of our goals scored.  If we can figure that out, we should be set up to have a successful season on the field.

The SAC is a difficult soccer conference, as we boast two of the better programs in the state at our level (Kalamazoo Hackett and Christian), but we're expecting to compete well with those teams and finish better than we've ever done in our conference and district.  It should be an enjoyable year to support Saugatuck Soccer.  Go Indians!
