Community Recreation

Thank you for visiting the SPS Community Recreation Page, I’m Scott Kierzek.  I’ve been the Community Rec. Program Director for 19 years.

I love serving the people of Saugatuck-Douglas in this capacity. Who wouldn’t? Our area has great diversity, beauty, the lake, and lots to do.

My college training was in the field of parks and recreation management, and because I’ve always loved athletics and competition, I’m happy to be right here where I am.

Our program largely consists of youth and adult sports camps, classes, and age-level leagues. But we often sponsor classes outside of the sports realm, too. Whenever there’s someone with a particular skill who’s passionate about sharing their expertise with others – and there’s a group of people who want to learn all about it – we’re going to see what we can do to get everyone together.

Because of the variety of dates and times in our program schedule, the best advice I can give is to watch our deadlines closely. It seems time zips by all of us quickly, and I don’t like to see anyone miss out on something I know they’d enjoy.
