Saugatuck Public schools is committed to providing an educationally sound environment for children from birth through twelfth grade. Our community has been supportive in helping us with an addition added in the early 1960's. In 1992, the facility was upgraded to accommodate computers and received a major overhaul on the interior and exterior of the facilities. The secondary facility was originally built in the mid 1970's and in 2002, upgraded to accommodate a sixth through eighth grade middle school wing and a second gymnasium added along with technological updates.
Saugatuck Public Schools is a positive and exciting place to be. Through the efforts of dedicated staff members and a supportive school community, students are given the chance to learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment. Through personal involvement, staff provide for each student's unique need and focus on their futures as life-long learners. Staff place the children first and help each child to achieve his or her personal best. Highly qualified staff continuously review curriculum to ensure it meets Michigan Standards and Benchmarks and is aligned both horizontally and vertically. In addition to the basic instruction, other experiences offered for the students include extra-curricular clubs and activities, specialized classes that include physical education, music, art, media, technology, and Spanish and after school activities.
