DEPARTMENT

Humanities

The Suagatuck High School Humanities Department inspires students to explore the human experience through literature, history, and social sciences. With a dedicated team of educators, students are supported in developing critical and analytical thinking, writing and speaking skills, creativity, and cultural awareness.

In the English Language Arts Department, courses like English 9, English 10, English 11, and English 12 build essential skills in literature, composition, research, and presentation. Advanced options, such as AP Literature, AP Language and Composition, Creative Writing, and Journalism, encourage sophisticated analytical and creative expression.

The Social Studies Department provides foundational classes like World History, United States History, Civics, and Economics, as well as advanced placement courses like AP Psychology, AP U.S. Government and Politics, AP U.S. History, and AP World History, fostering engaged and informed citizens.
