Saugatuck Public Schools

Transportation

Saugatuck Public Schools transports nearly 400 students to and from school each day and provides transportation for special education programs, extracurricular field trips, and athletic events. Our fleet includes seven buses and one minivan, operated by a team of dedicated, certified drivers working part-time and full-time.

Transportation operations are overseen by the Central Office, with Transportation Director Kim Sharda managing dispatch, routing, and the day-to-day coordination of all scheduled trips.

To reduce maintenance costs and improve efficiency, Saugatuck Public Schools partners with Hamilton Community Schools through a shared services agreement. This collaboration helps lower labor and fleet maintenance expenses, streamline routing, and combine special education routes when possible.

Each year, our drivers take part in a back-to-school safety program designed to introduce our youngest students and their families to school bus safety. This event gives kindergartners the chance to meet their drivers, take their first bus ride, and learn important safety tips for the year ahead.

If you have a change or update to your student(s) transportation needs, please fill out a transportation request and return it to Central Office.
