DEPARTMENT

Robotics

The Robotics Program at Saugatuck Public Schools offers students a hands-on, team-based experience that combines engineering, programming, creativity, and problem-solving. Whether students are interested in coding, mechanical design, electronics, or just love building things, that move – robotics has a place for everyone.

What is Robotics?

The Robotics team competes in organized competitions where students design, build, and program robots to complete specific tasks or challenges on a timed playing field. Along the way, students:

  • Use CAD software or 3D modeling
  • Learn basic electronics and wiring
  • Program robots using industry-relevant coding languages
  • Solve complex engineering challenges under pressure
  • Collaboration in teams with defined roles (builder, programmer, strategist, driver, etc.)
